Hey friends! Anisha here. I’m going to be sharing with you a spoiler free review of A Thousand Perfect Notes by fellow blogger and friend @paperfuryor Cait G. Drews. I absolutely adore Cait, as a blogger and person, and after this book, as a writer.
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to be sharing with you a no spoiler book review of Goodbye Perfect by Sara Barnard as well as a Q and A with the author! You can read my review of her previous book A Quiet Kind Of Thunder here!
Goodbye Perfect is the third book by UK writer Sara Barnard.
The story follows Eden and her best friend Bonnie. Eden and Bonnie have been
best friends for a very long time and despite being polar opposites, they are
super tight, the types of besties that tell each other everything. Until one
day when Bonnie decides to run away with her boyfriend without telling Eden.
Things get worse when the police show up at Eden’s doorstep and she finds out
her best friend’s boyfriend is also their school teacher. Sworn to secrecy and
bound by loyalty, only Eden knows Bonnie’s location and that’s the way it has
to stay. There is no way she can betray her best friend, not even when the
police are questioning her, not even when Bonnie’s disappearance ends up on the
front pages of every newspaper and not even when she has her own suspicious
growing doubts.
Hey friends!
Today I’m going to be sharing with you my review for I Am
Thunder! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this amazing book and I had to
share my thoughts on it because it is so worth the read. I have been reading a
lot of South Asian #ownvoices contemporary recently and they have all been
amazing, like this one!
Hi friends!
Wow it has been SUCH a long time. Firstly, happy new year. I
hope 2018 is good for you. I know I haven’t been very active on my blog
recently, and I’m really sorry about that, but I have been quite busy on my
YouTube channel so make sure to check that out! I did recently share my bookish goals of 2018 as well as the best books of 2017 and the worst books of 2017 so
make sure to click on those words if you’d like to watch those videos!
Anyways, today I’m going to be sharing with you a spoiler
free book review for Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills. I have reviewed one of her
previous works This Adventure Ends on my blog, which you can check out if you’d
like!
Let’s just get started before I continue to ramble! (And
wow, it feels so good to be typing out a blog post after so long, I didn’t want
you to think I’d abandoned you all!)
Hello hello, my lovely friends!
As you can tell from the title, today I’m going to be
sharing with you four reasons you should read Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu! This
was such a cute book and I highly recommend not only for you to read it, but
also for you to encourage others around you to read it. It has such a powerful
message and one worth sharing. And don't worry, it's spoiler free!
Trigger warning:
sexual harassment and attempted rape
Hey friends!
Today I’m going to be sharing with you a spoiler free review
for the gorgeous They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera. I have been meaning
to write this book review for SUCH a long time because I read this book well
over two and a half months ago as an e-ARC but I was super lazy before it was
published to write a review and after the publication date, I got very busy!
But better late than never right?
Anyways, Adam Silvera is a New York Times bestselling author
of three books total, the others being More Happy Than Not and History Is All
You Left Me, both of which are great books!
Hey friends!
Today I am here to share with you my thoughts for TAKE THREE
GIRLS written by Fiona Wood, Cath Crowley and Simmone Howell. This is a
#loveozya collaboration between three fantastic authors and I was lucky enough
to be invited for the blog tour of this gorgeous read, so let’s just get
started with the review!
Hey friends!
Today I’m going to be sharing with you another #loveozya
blog tour for The Build Up Season by Megan Jacobson and so happy to say that I absolutely
loved this book too! (The other blog tour I did recently for a #loveozya read
was for Wreck by Fleur Ferris).
I hadn’t had a chance to read Jacobson’s other book, Yellow, before reading this, which I will
for sure be picking up in the future, but I had heard such high praise about
her work and I was excited to see how her novel would pan out. And damn was it
amazing!
One thing I wanted to add, which I thought was very cool was
the design of this book! Other than the stunning cover, the spine itself has a ombre
of purple, orange, pink and yellow, which the author had told me on Twitter,
was inspired by the Darwin sunset. Is that not the coolest thing ever?
This review will be spoiler free and thank you so much to
Penguin Teen for giving me the opportunity to interview Jacobson and of course
to Jacobson herself for taking the time to answer my questions!
Let’s get started!
Hey friends!
Today I wanted to talk to you about The Names They Gave Us by
Emery Lord! This was the first time I had read her work but I knew she was
quite popular and has a large fan base. I had heard this book was amazing from
other bloggers before reading it, and if you can’t tell by the title, I was not
impressed.
If you did enjoy The Names They Gave Us, I am sorry for how
badly I’m going to tear this book apart, so if you don’t want to read this, I won’t
hate you because I understand!
Hi my bookish friends!
Don’t you just hate feeling let down by books? Whenever I am
told I’m going to love a book, while I
may still like it but I won’t love it. This is because I start building a ‘shrine’
for the book in my mind, especially when my favourite bloggers rave on and on
about it! I hate when it happens and even when I try to consciously not hype
myself up for books IT STILL HAPPENS! And it’s even worse when instead of being
horrible, the book is just ‘meh’ and a
sad average three stars because then you can’t even rant about why you hated it
extensively! *insert sad face emoji here*
Hi fellow book readers!
In case you didn’t know, it’s pride month – a time to
celebrate LGBTQI+ books and writers! And of course then there was no better
time than this to share with you a special, Pride Month edition of mini reviews
about books featuring bisexual main characters both of which are #ownvoices
(meaning the authors feature the same diverse characteristics as their
character)!
Let’s just get started!
The sad truth about average books is they hurt more to read
than absolutely terrible books and then on top of that, it hurts even more to
write a review on it because there is practically nothing to write about it –
you can’t write how terrible it was and proceed to share quotes and excerpts
cringing at it and you can’t gush about how everyone HAS to read it.
But alas, that’s what I’m here doing. So just keep reading
if you want to hear my thoughts on why this book was extremely average for me.
Aha I’m so excited to be sharing my review for this today! This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2017 and I am happy to say it did not disappoint!
If you didn’t know, Becky Albertalli is the writer of Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda, which was also such a cute and funny book and one that is a favourite of many! After having read that last year, I was quite excited when I heard she was releasing a new book, especially since there was so much hype surrounding it!
Plus I'm going to be showing you how to make these delicious Cadbury Mini Egg inspired book cookies!
Aha, I’m ready, I’m here, all set to talk about one of the cutest book EVER which also happens to be one of my top reads of this year!
I was really drawn into Queens Of Geek from the bright and
fun cover and the adorable premise PLUS the rave reviews online where people
were full on gushing about it! I read it as an ARC and then HAD to get the finished copy because it was just too pretty to resist!
I recently read Night Swimming by Steph Bowe and holy gods it was so good! I didn’t really go in with many expectations, not because I didn’t think it would be good, but because I didn’t know much about the story or the author, Steph Bowe, because this was the first time I’d be reading her work.
Steph Bowe is an Australian author so along with being a fabulous book, it’s also a #loveozya novel!
I highly recommend you all read this amazing book for these top five reasons listed below: (and yes, there are way more reasons than this but these are the main five that stood out to me!)
Also can I just take a minute to say such a huge thank you to The Text Publishing Company, for not only sending me this amazing book, but for also sending me the loveliest care package along with it that included lollies, a Night Swimming bracelet, goat soap and the sweetest note? YOU ARE THE BEST AND KINDEST! <3 span="">
When Hardie Grant sent me this book, I was SO SO SO excited,
to say the least. Not only was it so beautifully and lovingly packaged, it was
by an author whose work I had previously read and loved (Life In Outer Space
AKA the cutest book ever – read it if you haven’t already friends!) and it was
an #ozya I was very excited for!
For more thoughts, just keep reading!
Hi friends!
Welcome to my no spoiler review of Remind Me How This Ends by Gabrielle
Tozer who is an Australian YA author! This was the first time I had read one of
her books and I was quite eager because not only had I heard amazing things,
Tozer is also an award-winning author and this book seemed amazing!
I’m also doing a different style of review today because as
I am writing this, I have written 2 other posts today already and I am so
exhausted from my normal subheading style posts so I’m doing something a little
more relaxed!
