Lifel1k3 Book Review | sprinkledpages

Hi friends! I’m back to share with you a review for Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff. If the name sounds familiar to you, Jay has written many books including the Illuminae Files (read my review of Illuminae here) and Nevernight Chronicles.

I was very excited to receive an ARC of this book because I adore Jay’s previous work and the book’s tag line was very intriguing to me. Keep reading if you want to hear my thoughts on the story!

Unearthed Book Review | sprinkledpages

Hi friends!

It’s been quite a while wow. If you don’t keep up with my social medias, you may not know my extended absence was due to having exams for the past month which I was SO stressed for but now they are done and I finally have some time to read and review.

Today I’m going to be sharing with you a spoiler free review for Unearthed which I was so, SO excited to receive an ARC of because it is written by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner, both who are super cool humans and authors of the Starbound trilogy which I really enjoyed.

This was another sci-fi but other than that, I didn’t know anything about it before I began. And safe to say, but I really enjoyed it and this comes from someone who is not a very huge sci-fi reader.
Fans of Sleeping Giants will ADORE this book!

Defy The Stars Book Review | sprinkledpages

Hi friends!

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to be sharing with you all a book review for Defy The Stars by Claudia Gray! This is the first one of her books I have read but I know her Firebird trilogy was quite popular in the book community too!

Originally, I wasn’t going to give this a try because I had written it off as another classic sci-fi novel with the whole dying world and this one special snowflake who could save it trope but then I gave in after hearing positive reviews from other bloggers (and also because of that gorgeous cover – I mean the UK/AUS one GLITTERS!!)

And sorry to say, but it was exactly as I imagined it to be.

Ida No Spoiler Book Review | sprinkledpages

So last time I posted I was determined I wouldn’t let there be a bigger than 3-4 day gap in between but because I got completely bogged down with school work, I have had basically no time to do anything other than that and my blogging has just flown out the window!

But I’m trying to get back into the groove and I have the upcoming long weekend to do that too so hopefully the next few weeks are going to be better in terms of blog posts (ha! A girl can dream right?).

Today I am reviewing Ida by Alison Evans! So I was mostly drawn to this book because it is written by an Australian author – and more specifically a Melbournian author (whoop whoop!!) and I had heard some fantastic things about the diversity!

The cover of this was also really cool and I try not to talk about covers too much in my review because I feel I don’t have very intelligent things to say about them (other than they’re pretty and I love them so much and I’m drooling – basically it’s 100% me fangirling) but I really wanted to chat about the cover of this because not only is it gorgeous, it was another major aspect of what drew me into the book! I loved the eeriness of it + the same figures on the book had me super hyped for what it was going to be about.

I’ve decided to do a different style of book review today where I’m doing a book chat instead! So the structure I usually stick to is completely thrown out the window – enjoy ;)

Hey lovelies!

I am back again with another review but this time instead of a book review, it’s going to be a series review of the Spark trilogy by Rachael Craw. This consists of Spark, Stray and Shield.

I was really intrigued by this series because it was #ozya and I’ve been wanting to pick up more books by local authors (even though Rachael is technically from New Zealand!). I had also heard some absolutely amazing things about this series and it sounded absolutely amazing! (Crazy science experiment gone wrong and now these people have superhuman DNA? Sign me up!)

Also, can I mention the covers and the spines? I think this is one of the most beautiful series ever because the covers match so well together and THE SPINES OH HOLY GODS THE SPINES CREATE A TREE! (Well at least it looks like a tree to me – more realistically though it’s probably something to do with DNA!)

ALSO with this review I am going to have a spoiler – free and spoiler section so if you haven’t read the books don’t worry, I’ll have a warning for you!

Illuminae No Spoiler Book Review | sprinkledpages

Hey lovelies!

Today I am going to be sharing with you a book review of one of my recent reads which is Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman!

Although, I was hesitant about reading this book because I’m not the hugest fan of sci-fi, I was convinced to by these main four reasons:

1. I had heard such fantastic things and some of the people that I look to for reviews had all given it either four or five stars which meant I knew it was a fantastic read!

2. I wanted to read it before the Gemina book launch in Melbourne because I wanted to be able to go and tell the authors how much I loved the book and get it signed and all that fun stuff! And for those wondering, I did end up finishing it before the launch (on the day of the launch to be exact).

3. I also really wanted to read it because Amie and Jay are both Australian authors and I love reading books from local authors (especially since they live in Melbourne!) and I feel like we should all be reading and fangirling and sharing because #ozya is awesome!

4. Lastly, I wanted to read this book because of the format. It is a book that is written in various types of multimedia such as chats, reports, internet searches, maps, diagrams, radio communications and more! The format was really attractive and new to me which is also what reall interested me in the book!

But anyway, let’s get into the review!
