The Young Elites Book Review | empoweredinternetwomen

The Young Elites written by Marie Lu is one of my favourite books of all time! I read the two books in the series earlier this year and cannot wait for the third to be released later this year. These books are absolutely amazing for more than one reason and I really wanted to encourage those who haven't read it to try them out by reviwing them!

This is a spoiler review HOWEVER, I will warn you when the spoiler parts come so do not worry if you're planning to read this, I won't spoil it for you.

Snickerdoodle Cupcakes With Cinammon Frosting | empoweredinternetwomen

Oh hey there! It's been a while since I've posted a recipe so I thought I'd share one of my absolute favourites to make up for lost time - the good ol' snickerdoodle cupcake! One thing I absolutely adore cooking with is cinnamon. It tastes amazing and there are various ways to use it. It's perfect for the cold autumn winter season.

Everything, Everything Book Review | empoweredinternetwomen

When Jennifer Niven, author of All The Bright Places (whose book review you can read here) wrote 'heart wrenching' about Everything, Everything written by Nicola Yoon I have never heard words quite this true. Let me begin by just saying what a brilliant, one of a kind, brilliant book this is! I've never quite read something like this and I do read a lot.

About the book.

Book: Everything, Everything
Author: Nicola Yoon
Pages: 310
Publisher: Delacorte Books For Young Readers
Rating: ★★★★★
Synopsis: Maddy is allergic to the world. She hasn't left her house in seventeen years. Olly is the boy next door. He is determined to find a way to reach her. The book is about the crazy risks we take for love.
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Age Group: Young Adult novel however can be read by anyone 13+

Why its brilliant.

Everything, Everything is amazing because it is extremely unique. However at the same time, it is still relatable and sweet. Let's break down the other elements of the book that is so amazing before we get to the actual plot, shall we!

7 Tips To Enjoy Reading | empoweredinternetwomen

Reading is one of those things that I have enjoyed my entire life. But as I got into high school, I found I ditched the books for my phone, laptop, tablet etc.

I stopped reading because I felt it 'required too much effort' and I 'couldn't be bothered', excuses which I used to tell other people off for. Because I stopped reading, I realised I eventually became uninspired and dull. My love for writing and English also diminished, which was quite shocking because I used to love the two.

For the people out there who don't read, you don't know what you're missing out on! Reading is one of the best ways to escape, learn and explore your own creativity. It's very calming and reduces stress. There is nothing like it in the world. No TV, computer, phone or any other device will ever take the place of words on a page that create a story.

If you really want to start reading more (which you totally should!) but can't bring yourself to, keep reading for my 7 tips that will help you enjoy reading!
