#AsianLitBingo TBR!
Hi all!
Some fellow book bloggers and I recently decided to start a
reading challenge called the #AsianLitBingo which is a bingo game board of
prompts encouraging you to read books with Asian main characters by Asian
authors! (Hence, the ASIAN lit bingo!)
It’s easy! You pick a line (whether it be horizontal,
vertical or diagonal) and find books to for each prompt! It’s happening in the
month of May and all you have to do to finish is to read all five books and
you’ll be entered into the running for some very cool prizes! For more

This is my TBR for the reading challenge. Knowing me, it’s
due to change as I read but this is what I’ve planned so far for myself!
SFF WITH ASIAN MC
This is a category I am very excited for because it’s not
very often you find Asian main character’s in a science fiction/fantasy genre!
For this, I have picked NOT YOUR SIDEKICK by C.B Lee which I’ve heard such
fantastic things about! It’s a story about Asian main characters who live in a
world with superpowers and it sounds so fun and cute and suffice to say, I’m
very excited!
HISTORICAL FICTION
WITH ASIAN MC
For this prompt, I’ve chosen THE GIRL FROM EVERYWHERE by
Heidi Heilig! I have heard really fantastic things about this and it’s a time
travelling book where this girl and her father have a ship that can take them
to any period in history!
I know it’s not a ‘historical fiction’ specifically, but it
sounds really interesting and I’m very pumped to read it!
FREE SPACE
In the free space, you can read any book with an Asian main
character by an Asian author!
For this, I’m choosing EMPRESS OF A THOUSAND SKIES by Rhoda
Belleza! I have heard mostly positive things about this and there was lots of
positive buzz surrounding this prior to its release talking about the
all-diverse cast and fantastic sci-fi outer space setting so I am VERY
intrigued!
RETELLING WITH ASIAN
MC
For this one, I’ve gone with none other than FLAME IN THE
MIST by Renee Ahdieh! I am such a Ahdieh fan after reading and LOVING The Wrath
And The Dawn duology which was such a masterpiece that I cannot wait for this
Mulan-inspired retelling!
It sounds like ALL kinds of amazing and the cover is
magnificent and I’m basically salivating over the fact that it’s in my hands!
CONTEMPORARY WITH
ASIAN MC
For this prompt, I’m going with TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED
BEFORE by Jenny Han! I’d read this book a really long time ago and remembered
absolutely loving it for the fantastic characters and cute and relatable plot
but I’ve forgotten most of it now, other than that very vague description! Plus
the final book just came out and I wanted to re-read the first two before
hopping onto the very last one to see who Lara Jean finally ends up with! ;)
That’s it for my TBR! I have kept the post short so I can
spend more time actually reading than just typing and I hope to see you all
participate in this fun and diverse challenge!

DeleteAhh this looks like an AMAZING TBR! I really want to read Not Your Sidekick and I also need to read the next Lara Jean book now that the finale is out...can I admit I'm procrastinating because I'm worried my ship will sink?😂 I'm such a weakling. Good luck with the challenge!
