The Raven Boys No Spoiler Book Review | sprinkledpages

Hey lovelies!

Today I am going to be chatting and reviewing about The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater! This is such a popular series and I have heard SO much about it so I was very excited to give it a go!

It is the first book in a series of four books and I am going to be reading and reviewing the rest of them very soon so keep your eyes peeled for that!

But let's just get on with it, shall we?

The Graces No Spoiler Book Review | sprinkledpages

Hey lovelies!

Today I am going to be sharing with you the spoiler free review for The Graces by Laure Eve! I had requested this for review (however, this does not affect my opinions whatsoever!) because I had seen it pop up quite frequently on Instagram! However, after hearing some mixed reviews, I was slightly unsure as to whether I'd like it or not!

But firstly, before the review, can we just talk about how awesome the aesthetic of the book is? It's so gorgeous and gold and purple and stunning! The other editions have fantastic covers too and I am absolutely awestruck! Huge props to Faber and Jan Bielecki for such a beautiful design!

Now onto the review!

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children No Spoiler Review | sprinkledpages

Hey lovelies!

Today I am going to be sharing with you the spoiler free review for the first book of Ransom Riggs’s trilogy, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children!

I had been recommended this book tons of time but didn’t pick it up until recently because I had wanted to read the book before going to watch the movie! (Which was very different from the book, however, that is a whole other post.)

This is a great book for October because it’s going to be Halloween (even though it isn’t hugely celebrated in Australia) and everyone loves a spooky book at that time! But don’t worry! It’s a little weird and strange but definitely not scary because I am not a huge fan of horror (namely because I am a chicken!).

Can we also just take a moment to talk about how freaky/cool the cover is? I love the whole vintage vibe of this book! I haven’t really seen a style similar to this in other books so reading this book was a really unique experience!

But let’s just get started with the review!

August + September HUGE Book Haul | sprinkledpages

Hi everyone!

Today I am going to be chatting you through my August and September book haul! I don’t usually do book hauls because I have always been more of a borrower than a buyer but over the past two months, I acquired SO MANY BOOKS and I thought I’d share them with you guys!

Quick disclaimer before we begin! I am, in no way trying to show off. I, personally enjoy watching and reading book hauls because I like to see what books are making buzz in the book community and to know what books are worth buying + recommendations, which is why I am sharing with you all!
Please let me know in the comments if these kind of posts interest you or not because I love feedback!

Another quick note, a lot of the books in these two months were sent to me by publishers because I have imposed a book buying and borrowing halt on myself because THERE IS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO READ AND SUCH LITTLE TIME!

I have also done book reviews for some of these books, which I will link alongside with them if you would like to check those out for more about the book!

Last thing! I have kept the whole description about the books pretty short because there is a lot to get through today!

Let’s just get started

- BOUGHT –

These are all the books I have bought over the two months – total count: 5

{ WINNER’S TRILOGY BY MARIE RUTKOSKI }

If you know me at all, you know I ADORE this series! I read it a few months ago when I borrowed it from the library and after finishing it, I knew I had to own all three books so I could re-read and tab up all the pages and fangirl and write little notes in the margins and have them to sit in my shelf and stare longingly at and BASICALLY JUST LOVE IT!

If you have not yet read the series, you must! I’m going to be doing a re-read soon so we could totally just be reading the books together!

{ THE UNEXPECTED EVERYTHING BY MORGAN MATSON }

I mainly just bought this book for the dogs on the cover…not even going to lie. I have not read it yet but I am planning to! I’ve just been saving it for the summer because Morgan Matson is the queen of summer contemporaries! I have read her other book Since You’ve Been Gone, which I have done a book review on, and since then, I am very eager to read more of her writing!

{ ILLUMINAE BY JAY KRISTOFF AND AMIE KAUFMAN }

This is another book I have not yet read! I have included it in my October TBR however, because I had wanted to read it before going to the Gemina book launch in late October! I also actually got my copy at a library sale for 50c which is INSANE because it’s in perfectly good condition (like new) and it was such a low price! I never go to library sales but I am definitely going to be hanging around there more often from now on!

- SENT –

These are all the books I have been kindly sent by publishers in exchange for an honest review – total count: 9

{ REPLICA  BY LAUREN OLIVER }

I am currently reading this book and I think it’s pretty cool! It’s a flip story with one side being Lyra’s story and one side being Gemma’s story! I love Lauren Oliver’s writing as I have previously read her Delirium series which I remember LOVING to pieces so I was pretty excited to receive this!

You can check out my spoiler free book review for more about what I thought!

Thank you to Hachett publishing for sending me this!

{ STEALING SNOW BY DANIELLE PAIGE }

I, personally love retellings and I thought this was a really cool idea! But, when I read it, it wasn’t as good as I had hoped, which was very disappointing for me because I was very much looking forward to it. However, at least it has a nice cover, right?

You can check out my spoiler free book review for more about what I thought!

Thanks to Bloomsbury publishing for sending me this!

{ SILVER IN THE BLOOD BY JESSICA DAY GEORGE }

I don’t know much about this book but I believe it’s a historical fiction (??) but it is next on my reading list so we will find out pretty soon! I also adore the cover and it (along with a picture book which I also have yet to review) was one of the best book mail experiences I’ve had, so that book has such a special place in my heart!

As I will be reading this soon, a book review will go up shortly!

Thank you to Bloomsbury publishing for sending me this!

{ EMPIRE OF STORMS BY SARAH J MAAS }

I know this is such a highly controversial book but I did end up enjoying it! I thought the story was action packed (but slightly long, without a doubt) and the characters coming together was super cool! I also loved some of the new romances that were developing in the book! *insert wink emoji*

You can check out my spoiler free book review for more about it!

Thank you to Bloomsbury publishing for sending me this!

{ THRONE OF GLASS COLOURING BOOK }

This was such a beautiful colouring book and the illustrations were so GORG! I loved the quotes and scenes used and it made for such a beautiful colouring experience!

You can check out my book review for more about what I thought!

Thank you to Bloomsbury publishing for sending me this!

{ WORDS IN DEEP BLUE BY CATH CROWLEY }

I loved this book a lot and it was written by an Aussie author, which is great because I love supporting fellow Aussies! It was a beautiful story and told through partially through letters and notes. I loved the characters and the setting and the idea and it was one of my highly enjoyed reads!

You can check out my spoiler free book review for more about it!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan for sending me this!

{ HEARTLESS BY MERISSA MEYER }

I haven’t read anything Merissa Meyer but I’ve heard so many lovely things that I was really eager to read her newest to-be-released read, Heartless, which is a Queen Of Hearts retelling! I have not yet read it but I look forward to it!

It is going to be published in November so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan for sending me this as part of the Heartless Blog Tour!

{ ASSASSIN’S HEART BY SARAH AHIERS }

I unfortunately didn’t end up liking this book very much because it was dry however, I did like the whole new take on assassins and the religious and spiritual aspects behind the book! I’ve only seen one type of assassin which is Celaena from Throne Of Glass by Sarah J Maas, so it was nice to see someone take a new spin on it!

You can check out my spoiler free book review for this one for more!

Thank you to Harlequin Teen for sending me this, unsolicited!

{ SOMETHING IN BETWEEN BY MELISSA DE LA CRUZ }

Last but not least, this one! I liked how diverse and relatable the story was but it did get a bit too long for me at times. I didn’t like how it continued to drag and I feel that could be improved a little. But nonetheless, Jasmine was a great protagonist!

You can check out my spoiler free book review for this one for more!

Thank you to Harlequin Teen for sending me this, unsolicited!

PHEW! I am exhausted! This was such a monster post to write! My fingers hurt, my wrist hurts, everything hurts so I’m going to stop typing now!

What are some of the books you bought, borrowed or received this past month?

I’m curious!

Popular Series I Want To Read | sprinkledpages

Hey guys!

Today I am going to be chatting about some of the popular series that I have yet to read! These are ones that are most definitely on my TBR but I have not been able to get around to reading them!
You may be wondering why I have not yet read these books and the main reason is I had been in a huge reading slump for the past two to three years and only this year have I been able to get back into books (and I am back in full force, so that’s great!) and since having been back, I’m trying to get through all the books I missed over the years and that, unfortunately, does take a while!

My TBR list is huger than just these books and if you’d like to see the whole list, you can check out my Goodreads.

However, in this post, I’m just going to be talking about the so-called ‘popular’ series of books that everyone in the book community seems to be buzzing about!

Let’s get started!

Hey lovelies!

Today I am going to be sharing with you a book review of Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard. But first, can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful and gold this cover is? I am such a sucker for beautiful covers and this book really, really does the job!

But more than a beautiful cover, it’s an amazing story!

October TBR | sprinkledpages

Hey lovelies!

Today I’m going to be chatting about my October to be read (TBR)! I can’t believe it’s October, honestly. I know I say this every time, but it really shocks me that the start of the month is here because it feels like just yesterday I was doing my September TBR!

I have quite a few books on my TBR list but I have tried to keep it as realistic as possible because I have a lot of stuff going on this month. These books may change, however, this is a general idea of what I’d like to read! I have also tried to keep this post as short as possible because there are a ton of books on here and I’d hate to bore you with details!

These books are in no particular order!

Let’s just get started!

{ 1. MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULAR CHILDREN by Ransom Riggs }

The movie of this book has already been released as you may know and I’m pretty excited to go see it. But before seeing it, I’d like to have read the book so I can make a comparison between the book movie and because I hate going to movie adaptations without having read the book for some reason! I’ve heard it’s an awesome book so I am pretty excited!

This is also a perfect book for this month because Halloween + spooky reads = OCTOBER!

{ 2. ILLUMINAE by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman }

I have heard such good things about this book I am so freaking excited! I absolutely cannot wait to read it because I’ve heard it’s told through different mediums (media?? Not sure) such as chats, blogs, files etc and it’s set in outer space! I haven’t read a sci-fi in so long and I can’t say I’m the hugest fan but this one sounds amazing!

Also, I am going to be attending the Gemina launch in Melbourne and I would love to have read this book before! (Which I will have, by the time!)

Fun story! I got my copy of Illuminae at a library sale, which I’ve never been to before but I saw it today when I was in the library and it was selling for 50c so I snagged it quickly!! *heart eye emoji*

It was such a win!

October TBR | sprinkledpages

{ 3. SILVER IN THE BLOOD by Jessica Day George }

The cover for this is gorgeous! Can I just put it out there? Okay, thank you! This was sent to me by Bloomsbury and when I saw it, I was flipping excited! The book seems insanely cool and while I haven’t heard any buzz about it from the book community, I’m excited to give it a shot because the cover is GORG and the story sounds amazing! Plus, I’ve been wanting to read a historical fiction book for a really long time but I’ve never known where to start!

{ 4. REPLICA by Lauren Oliver }

This one is another ARC sent to me by Hatchett and I was so thrilled when I saw it because I love Lauren Oliver! I’ve read *cough* devoured *cough* all her books and this book was so unique and cool and I absolutely had to have it! I love the whole concept of two stories that relate to each other and how you could read from any side!

It’s also absolutely gorgeous, which I know shouldn’t affect anything but, just putting it out there.

October TBR | sprinkledpages

{ 5. THE RAVEN CYCLE by Maggie Stiefvater }

I have read the first book in the Raven Cycle which is The Raven Boys, which I initially didn’t like but grew to enjoy towards the end and I am planning to read the other three books in the series this month. This is another, insanely popular series I would love to read very soon because I’ve heard such fantastic things about it!

It was on my previous TBR too (oops!) but I didn’t have a chance to read it last month so I shall read it this month then! (Hopefully!)

Wow, so that was my October TBR! I got some big plans for this month, with seven books to read, which I hope I am able to finish. I have made it less than last month’s TBR which was absolutely huge and unrealistic so I hope this one is better!

What’s on your to be read this month? Any of these books?
