Today I am going to be chatting you through my August and
September book haul! I don’t usually do book hauls because I have always been
more of a borrower than a buyer but over the past two months, I acquired SO MANY
BOOKS and I thought I’d share them with you guys!
Quick disclaimer before we begin! I am, in no way trying to
show off. I, personally enjoy watching and reading book hauls because I like to
see what books are making buzz in the book community and to know what books are
worth buying + recommendations, which is why I am sharing with you all!
Please let me know in the comments if these kind of posts
interest you or not because I love feedback!
Another quick note, a lot of the books in these two months
were sent to me by publishers because I have imposed a book buying and
borrowing halt on myself because THERE IS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO READ AND SUCH
LITTLE TIME!
I have also done book reviews for some of these books, which
I will link alongside with them if you would like to check those out for more about
the book!
Last thing! I have kept the whole description about the
books pretty short because there is a lot to get through today!
Let’s just get started
- BOUGHT –
These are all the books I have bought over the two months – total count:
5
{ WINNER’S TRILOGY BY MARIE RUTKOSKI }
If you know me at all, you know I ADORE this series! I read
it a few months ago when I borrowed it from the library and after finishing it,
I knew I had to own all three books so I could re-read and tab up all the pages
and fangirl and write little notes in the margins and have them to sit in my
shelf and stare longingly at and BASICALLY JUST LOVE IT!
If you have not yet read the series, you must! I’m going to
be doing a re-read soon so we could totally just be reading the books together!
{ THE UNEXPECTED EVERYTHING BY MORGAN MATSON }
I mainly just bought this book for the dogs on the cover…not
even going to lie. I have not read it yet but I am planning to! I’ve just been
saving it for the summer because Morgan Matson is the queen of summer
contemporaries! I have read her other book Since You’ve Been Gone, which I have
done a book review on, and since then, I am very eager to read more of her
writing!
{ ILLUMINAE BY JAY KRISTOFF AND AMIE KAUFMAN }
This is another book I have not yet read! I have included it
in my October TBR however, because I had wanted to read it before going to the Gemina
book launch in late October! I also actually got my copy at a library sale for
50c which is INSANE because it’s in perfectly good condition (like new) and it
was such a low price! I never go to library sales but I am definitely going to
be hanging around there more often from now on!
- SENT –
These are all the books I have been kindly sent by publishers in
exchange for an honest review – total count: 9
{ REPLICA BY LAUREN OLIVER }
I am currently reading this book and I think it’s pretty
cool! It’s a flip story with one side being Lyra’s story and one side being
Gemma’s story! I love Lauren Oliver’s writing as I have previously read her
Delirium series which I remember LOVING to pieces so I was pretty excited to receive
this!
Thank you to Hachett
publishing for sending me this!
{ STEALING SNOW BY DANIELLE PAIGE }
I, personally love retellings and I thought this was a
really cool idea! But, when I read it, it wasn’t as good as I had hoped, which
was very disappointing for me because I was very much looking forward to it.
However, at least it has a nice cover, right?

{ SILVER IN THE BLOOD BY JESSICA DAY GEORGE }
I don’t know much about this book but I believe it’s a
historical fiction (??) but it is next on my reading list so we will find out
pretty soon! I also adore the cover and it (along with a picture book which I also
have yet to review) was one of the best book mail experiences I’ve had, so that
book has such a special place in my heart!
As I will be reading this soon, a book review will go up
shortly!
Thank you to
Bloomsbury publishing for sending me this!
{ EMPIRE OF STORMS BY SARAH J MAAS }
I know this is such a highly controversial book but I did
end up enjoying it! I thought the story was action packed (but slightly long,
without a doubt) and the characters coming together was super cool! I also
loved some of the new romances that were developing in the book! *insert wink
emoji*

it!

{ THRONE OF GLASS COLOURING BOOK }
This was such a beautiful colouring book and the
illustrations were so GORG! I loved the quotes and scenes used and it made for
such a beautiful colouring experience!

{ WORDS IN DEEP BLUE BY CATH CROWLEY }
I loved this book a lot and it was written by an Aussie
author, which is great because I love supporting fellow Aussies! It was a
beautiful story and told through partially through letters and notes. I loved
the characters and the setting and the idea and it was one of my highly enjoyed
reads!

it!
Thank you to Pan
Macmillan for sending me this!
{ HEARTLESS BY MERISSA MEYER }
I haven’t read anything Merissa Meyer but I’ve heard so many
lovely things that I was really eager to read her newest to-be-released read,
Heartless, which is a Queen Of Hearts retelling! I have not yet read it but I look
forward to it!
It is going to be published in November so keep your eyes
peeled for that!
Thank you to Pan
Macmillan for sending me this as part of the Heartless Blog Tour!
{ ASSASSIN’S HEART BY SARAH AHIERS }
I unfortunately didn’t end up liking this book very much
because it was dry however, I did like the whole new take on assassins and the
religious and spiritual aspects behind the book! I’ve only seen one type of
assassin which is Celaena from Throne Of Glass by Sarah J Maas, so it was nice
to see someone take a new spin on it!

Thank you to Harlequin
Teen for sending me this, unsolicited!
{ SOMETHING IN BETWEEN BY MELISSA DE LA CRUZ }
Last but not least, this one! I liked how diverse and
relatable the story was but it did get a bit too long for me at times. I didn’t
like how it continued to drag and I feel that could be improved a little. But nonetheless,
Jasmine was a great protagonist!

PHEW! I am exhausted! This was such a monster post to write!
My fingers hurt, my wrist hurts, everything hurts so I’m going to stop typing
now!
What are some of the books
