Hey lovelies!

I know my wrap up is a little late (okay, quite late!) but that’s because I wasn’t originally going to put it up however, then I changed my mind and decided to because I don’t think I’ll be able to write a wrap up for the end of November (but I talk about more why below!) so I thought I’d try to at least stay in the habit for as long as I can!

My book descriptions have been brief because I want to keep this post short and I have reviews for quite a few of these books already on the blog so you can check that out for more details on what I thought! And for some of them, the review has not yet been uploaded so you may have to check back in a few days for it!

Let’s just get started!

{ READING }

So October was pretty great reading month for me! I read 13 books! I know, it’s quite crazy but I probably won’t be able to do the same in November because of how hectic this month is with exams and all but I’m happy I was able to read that much when I had the time!

There has been a mixed rating of books read this month but more below! I also managed to read a few books from my October TBR but not as many as I would have wanted!

Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard
I thought this was such a fantastic book on female friendships and so simple but touching! It stayed with me long after I put the book down and I still think about it from time to time! It was cute, enjoyable and unexpected!

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
I mostly just read this book because I wanted to go see the movie and I hate seeing the movie without having read the book. I did enjoy it but it wasn’t as good as I thought and while I will be continuing with the rest of the series, it is not on the very top of my TBR if you know what I mean!

Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige
Aha, this book. I have never, ever given a book a single star rating out of five until I read this one. I did not like this AT ALL, because of how sucky EVERYTHING was!

I don’t want to get too negative so if you want to know more on why I didn’t like it, read my spoiler free bookreview!

Replica by Lauren Oliver
I thought this was a very unique book because of the story and the concept of the flip stories! It wasn’t as good as Lauren Oliver’s other books but enjoyable nonetheless!

Love And Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
I mostly read this book because I’d seen it all over Instagram and I was pleasantly surprised by it! it wasn’t perfect by any means and some parts were a bit dry but it had a fun, summery vibe and a little bit of mystery. PLUS, it’s set in Italy and HAS ICE CREAM ON THE FRONT! That’s a win for me!

The Wrath And The Dawn duology by Renee Ahdieh
I was really looking forward to this and I am so happy it didn’t disappoint! It was vibrant, beautiful and is one of my favourite series! The characters and the world were so beautiful and basically transported me into this world!

My book review for this series is going to be up soon so check back in a few days to read more of what  I thought!

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
I thought this was a great, fast paced and action packed book though I did have a few problems with trying to make sense of everything!

Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I am actually on the blog tour for this so that’s exciting! I thought the story was pretty great because of the baking, the fun setting and the spin on Alice In Wonderland!

My review for this book is going to be live on the 16th of November so make sure to check back then to read more of what I thought!

The Graces by Laure Eve
There were some very mixed reviews about this book but I really enjoyed it! I thought it was something different and a little fun and unexpected!

For more, read my spoiler freebook review!

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu
This was the epic conclusion to the Young Elites trilogy and I thought it was so fantastic! It had me in tears at the very end and left me reeling!

Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven
If you know me at all, you’ll know how much I adore Jennifer Niven so I had to read her new book when it came out! While I thought it was good, it wasn’t as good as All The Bright Places!

My book review for this is coming so check back here soon to see more of what I thought!

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye
Fun fact: I read this book in a day! I thought it was imaginative but fell flat in terms of the plot and characters. It is a very pretty book though!

My book review for this is coming so check back here soon to see more of what I thought!

{ BLOGGING }

My blogging fell a bit flat this month, going from posting every day to posting every 2-3 days but I think that’s also good as it allows time for you guys to catch up on what you’ve missed!

Some of the other posts I published this month that were not book reviews:

{ LIFE }

So life in October was good! I had my school holidays at the very start, I was doing lots of reading and I started playing tennis again! (And won a few matches too which is always nice!)

I also went to the Gemina book launch where I met some of the Melbourne bookish crew and since then have been chatting on Twitter with them! It was so nice meeting them and getting Illuminae signed and meeting the authors!

November is going to be a crazy month for me because of upcoming exams and going overseas! On that note, I’m not going to be in Australia the end of November and the entire of December because I’m going overseas! That means lots of packing and not very much blogging! I’m going to leave scheduled posts behind (that will hopefully post otherwise how annoying!) but it means I won’t be able to put much time and effort into my content as before!

However, I am back in January which is during school holidays so I can spend lots of time reading and blogging then!

I'm not even going to bother doing a TBR this month because a) it's practically half way through the month already and b) I'm finding it very hard to predict exactly what I'm going to read so if you want to know what I'm reading at the moment, you can keep up with it on my Goodreads!

How was your October? Reading, blogging and life wise?

  1. Wow, 13 books is an incredible month of reading! Nice work! Ugh, Stealing Snow. I couldn't even finish it which is a shame because I really enjoyed her Dorothy Must Die series. Ooh, going overseas is always exciting and throughout Christmas too! Where abouts are you travelling? I've just followed you in IG, so I'm hoping you'll post lots of holiday happy snaps so I can live vicariously through you <3

    1. Aww thank you! November isn't going that great but oh well! And Stealing Snow gives me nightmares tbh! It's so bad (and i feel very mean saying this but just...ugh!!!) And I'm going to Malaysia and India! Not super fun but hopefully I'll have some stuff on my story! TBH, I'd rather still be in Aus bc it's unlikely I'll have wifi! :(

  2. Ohhh so lucky and awesome that you went to the Gemina launch!! I kind of dream of living in a big city sometime so I can actually GO to cool book things.😂 I live in a poky little country town, bleh. hehe. (But at least it has nice...trees. I suppose.) OMG AND I'M GLAD YOU LIKED THE GRACES TOO!! I feel like no one likes it??! But I weirdly loved it!! And I really want to read Heartless and I can't wait for my copy to arrive. also your photos are just stunningly gorgeous in this post. I LIKE.

    1. OKAY OMG FIRST I'M FANGIRLING BC OMG YOU COMMENTED! AND LIKED MY PHOTOS. (That sound right there was the sound of me gasping for air haha xD. Also, thank you for making my day!) Also, I did really like the graces and bc I follow you on Goodreads, I knew that you liked it as well which made me very happy bc I always feel a little insecure when I like a book no one else does! I thought it was such a cool, twisty-turny book!

With Heartless, it's pretty good but there are some mixed reviews for it! (I still gave it a four stars so I really hope you enjoy it! Also, there's cake in it i'm pretty sure haha and I know you love your cake!)

  3. Oh man, I've heard so many negative things about Stealing Snow! I read Replica this week and I was kind of disappointed. The cover for Love and Gelato is so cute! I just borrowed The Graces from the library. The Gemina book launch would have been so awesome! Good luck with your exams and have fun with your holidays.

    1. Stealing Snow is terrible. Not even gonna sugarcoat. It is honestly the worst book I have read this year. (The cover is pretty tho!)
Replica was disappointing esp bc I loved Lauren Oliver's Delirium when I was younger!
I hope you enjoy The Graces! Let me know how that goes :)
The Gemina book launch was awesome! Also, thank you so much Jeann! You are the sweetest <3

  4. Wohoo! I'm so glad you enjoyed TWATD duology, it's one of my favorites this year! I also felt that way with Miss Peregrines, and I'm not sure whether to continue or not... Good luck with exams and all your travelling though!

    1. OMG YAY! TWATD BUDDIES :)

I am continuing with Miss Peregrine but only if I run out of things to read (which basically means it is highly unlikely I am going to continue bc it didn't reall catch my attention and I've already forgotten all about it!)

And thank you so much! :)
